Overview: The Covington Branch of the Kenton County Public Library maintains an extensive collection of local history and genealogy materials. It is one of the largest Kentucky history and genealogy collections in the nation.
Scope: The scope of the collection is the entire Commonwealth of Kentucky with a special emphasis on the Northern Kentucky region. The library maintains book and microfilm resources from every county in Kentucky. Small collections also exist for the Commonwealth of Virginia and Southwest Ohio (Cincinnati).
Types of Materials Available: An extensive book collection, 7,000 reels of microfilm, thousands of photographs, hundreds of maps, an extensive on-line newspaper index and the on-line geNKY genealogy database.
Collection Location: The Kentucky History and Genealogy Collection is housed at the Mary Ann Mongan Branch of the Kenton County Public Library, 502 Scott Blvd., Covington, KY 41011.
